Shore Watch
When is the lake right for you?
Choose the conditions you care about. You get a private link that says GO when every one of them is met by the latest readings, and NOT YET when any is not.
How it decides
- GO means every condition is met by the newest readings from NOAA’s Cleveland station and the NWS alert list.
- A reading more than an hour old never counts: the watch says it cannot tell rather than guess.
- It describes one station, not your beach. Look at the water and check NWS Cleveland before you go.
- GO only means your numbers are met. It does not check beach water-quality advisories (Ohio Department of Health BeachGuard), lifeguards, waves or lightning. Swim where lifeguards are on duty. In an emergency call 911 (on the water: VHF channel 16, U.S. Coast Guard).
- Keep the link safe: anyone who has it can open the watch. Unopened for 180 days, it is deleted.
